When Peter Brogan – current director Roisin’s father – established our Ballynahinch practice in 1987, Roisin was just 9 years old. However, 28 years later, she remembers the day clearly:
“Dad came to collect me from my primary school which is just next to the practice. I couldn’t understand why he was so excited about such an old wreck of a building… little did I know it would turn out to be a real beauty!”
Our Ballynahinch practice was actually the first optometry practice in the area. In fact, before we came along, there was only one optician who used to visit the town to test eyes just one day a week.
The practice was originally a 19th Century guest house and boasts some wonderful periodic features. Contrasting with the attractive old stonework on the exterior of the building, the interior has a modern, boutique-like feel and is equipped with the very latest technology to ensure you a very modern, up-t0-date eye examination.
At our Ballynahinch practice we are often humbled to see the second, third and occasionally fourth generation of the same family – lots of our patients fondly remember having their eyes tested by Peter.
When you visit our Ballynahinch practice you can look forward to a hubbub of friendly faces and laid back attitudes. The majority of our welcoming and knowledgeable team have been with us for a number of years, meaning you will only ever receive the highest standards of care and often from a face you recognise.
